COVID-19 CAMP RESOURCES:In this difficult time, we are continuing to be the Camp Alkulana family together! There is a lot that is different right now in our lives, but Camp Alkulana is still at work. State protocols for reopening, CDC guidelines, American Camp Association recommendations have made it clear that we cannot have camp in its usual form this summer. We have, however, come up with an alternative plan of how to “do camp” that will allow our campers to participate at whatever level feels safe to their families. Camp Alkulana takes the health and safety of our campers very seriously. We will be practicing social distancing and sanitizing of hands and surfaces in all of our programming. We will also follow all of the current guidelines on use of masks. Camp will happen in various ways this summer:
We will continue to pay attention to recommendations and restrictions from state and local authorities and may change these plans accordingly. But for now, we are already working to put these plans into effect as safely as possible so that we can invest in the lives of Richmond’s children this summer. We all are all disappointed that we can’t have camp as usual this summer, but this plan will bring Alkulana to our campers in a way best suited for our times. Our children need camp now more than ever. Camp Alkulana’s mission and work continues. I hope you’ll join us.
